Dr. Sandeep Bachu completed his foundational medical training at NTR Health University in Andhra Pradesh, where he was awarded a Gold Medal in Ophthalmology during his MBBS program.
He further specialized in Ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital in Tirunelveli, earning his DNB degree in 2010. Following this, he pursued a Surgical Vitreo-Retina Fellowship at Aravind Eye Hospital in Coimbatore from 2010 to 2012, after which he took on the role of consultant at the same institution.
In 2014, he was awarded an International Council of Ophthalmology fellowship in Ocular Immunology & Uveitis at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA. Additionally, he completed an Observership in Ocular Oncology under Dr. Shields at Wills Eye Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, USA.
Dr. Sandeep Bachu is proficient in Microincision Vitrectomy Surgery (MIVS) using both 25 and 23 Gauge techniques.
His professional interests include Retinal Surgery, Diabetic Retinopathy, Endophthalmitis, and Macular Degeneration. He has actively contributed to the field by presenting numerous papers and posters at various conferences and publishing articles in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Bachu is passionate about academics and research, with a strong commitment to practicing evidence-based medicine.
