Dr. Jayanth Vijayakumar is a distinguished General Surgeon with specialized qualifications in vascular and endovascular surgery. He possesses a substantial experience of 10 years in general surgery, complemented by over 6 years in vascular and endovascular surgery at two prominent university hospitals.
He completed his MBBS in 2001 and commenced his professional journey as a general and laparoscopic surgeon in 2008. His unwavering commitment to “Quality Patient Care” has driven him towards research and publication. Notably, his research on breast cancer patients was featured in the “International Journal of Recent Trends in Science and Technology.” During his general surgical residency, he developed a keen interest in vascular surgery, ultimately achieving his aspiration of becoming one of India’s youngest vascular and endovascular surgeons.
Dr. Jayanth Vijayakumar was honored as the university gold medallist at Madras Medical College and received the esteemed vascular Alumni gold medal in 2015. His innovative contributions to vascular surgery include the successful introduction of a novel technique, “Duplex Guided Angioplasty & Stenting,” for patients with renal compromise, which was published in a medical journal. In 2015, he underwent training in kidney and pancreas transplantation in Seoul, Korea, and is currently focusing on pediatric solid organ transplantation. Dr. Jayanth Vijayakumar continues to excel as an assistant professor of vascular surgery at Madras Medical College and RGGGH, while also leading the division of vascular surgery at Laser & Laparoscopic Hospital in T Nagar, demonstrating significant potential in the surgical field.
