Dr. Prof Balakumar S serves as a Vascular Surgeon at Helios Hospitals Private Ltd in Chennai. He specializes in minimally invasive catheter techniques and surgical reconstruction aimed at addressing vascular system disorders, including those affecting arteries and veins. Dr. Prof Balakumar S has a particular interest in Laparoscopic Truncal Vagotomy and Laparoscopic Heller’s Cardiomyotomy.
Dr. Prof Balakumar S earned his MBBS from Annamalai University and furthered his education by completing an MS in General Surgery and an MCh in Vascular Surgery at Madras Medical College in 2000 and 2006, respectively. As a dedicated academic, he has contributed to various publications, including a chapter on Lumbar Sympathectomy in the Textbook of Vascular Surgery published by the Vascular Society of India, as well as a piece on Paediatric Coarctation of the Aorta for the Institute of Child Health’s Department of Paediatric Cardio Thoracic Surgery.
