Dr. Meeraji Rao serves as an Interventional Cardiologist at the Continental Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences – The Heart Center.
With 25 years of experience in the field, he has successfully conducted over 7,000 procedures. His areas of expertise include Trans-radial Angiography and Angioplasty, with a particular focus on Chronic Total Occlusions and device closures.
Dr. Meeraji Rao has received accolades from esteemed American professional societies, earning the title of Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) in 2000 and Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI) in 2014.
He completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiology at RCH in Melbourne, Australia, in 2001, and a Fellowship in Preventive Cardiology through the World Heart Federation in Kenya in 2002. Most recently, he undertook a sabbatical as a Fellow in Interventional Cardiology at AUSL9 (University of Siena) in Tuscany, Italy.
Dr. Meeraji Rao has held academic positions as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at PGIMER in India and as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad. He served as the President of the Cardiology Society of India, AP Chapter, from 2007 to 2008.
With extensive research experience, he has participated as an investigator in numerous multinational interventional cardiology studies. Until recently, he was the Head of the Cardiology Department at NMCSH Hospital in the UAE, which is JCI accredited. He is proficient in English, Hindi, Telugu, and Punjabi.
