Dr. Mahesh Channappa possesses extensive experience spanning 23 years in various surgical fields. Currently serving as the Senior Consultant and Professor in General, Gastrointestinal, Laser Proctology, Laparoscopic, and Bariatric Surgery at Aster CMI Hebbal, he previously held the position of Senior Consultant Surgeon at Columbia Asia Hospital Hebbal, Bangalore. Additionally, he worked as a consultant in General Surgery at Mallya Hospital for a period of 3 years and gained valuable experience during his 4-year tenure in the United Kingdom. Dr. Channappa is a member of the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI) and received training in General Surgery, Urology, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Trauma, and Emergency. He has also worked in proctology, colorectal, and breast units in the UK. Dr. Channappa specializes in Upper GI, Colorectal, Vascular surgical, and Laparoscopic Surgeries, excelling in both routine and complex procedures. His areas of expertise include complex hernia repair, complex laparoscopic gall bladder surgeries, small bowel and colon surgeries, Fundoplication for Reflux disorder, Bariatric and metabolic surgeries, as well as Laser proctology for Haemorrhoids, Fistulas, and Anal fissures. As an academician, Dr. Channappa currently holds the position of Professor and Mentor for Postgraduates in General Surgery at AsterCMI Hospital Bangalore.
