Dr. Kamal Kiran earned his MBBS from Mysore Medical College in 1995 and subsequently obtained his MD in Medicine from Bangalore Medical College. In 2005, he completed his DNB in Nephrology from the National Board of Examinations, under the mentorship of the esteemed Prof. JCM Shastry, a leading figure in Indian nephrology.
From 2005 until December 2014, he served as a Consultant Nephrologist at Kamineni Hospitals. Additionally, he held the position of Senior Renal Registrar at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, Australia, from March 2006 to February 2008.
Dr. Kamal Kiran has a strong passion for transplantation, particularly in high-risk procedures such as ABO-incompatible and cross-match positive kidney transplantation. He has been a pioneer in promoting hemodiafiltration as a more effective alternative to traditional hemodialysis.
His research interests include the genetics of diabetes, kidney diseases, and transplantation pharmacodynamics, and he has published numerous papers in international journals.
