Dr. Sumeet Arora has completed a three-year fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at SUNY, USA, where she gained extensive clinical experience in Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes clinics, serving children from newborns to 18 years old with various hormonal disorders.
Her work in Diabetes clinics involved the management of both type 1 and type 2 Diabetes. In treating type 1 Diabetes, she utilized the latest insulin delivery technologies, including sensor-augmented insulin pumps, closed-loop hybrid insulin pumps, and traditional multiple daily injection methods. The Endocrinology clinics were highly active, addressing hormonal issues such as early or delayed puberty, menstrual irregularities in girls, polycystic ovarian syndrome in adolescents, puberty induction in Turner syndrome, and other hormone deficiencies related to puberty. Additionally, she managed thyroid disorders in children, growth hormone deficiencies, and conditions related to steroid hormone imbalances, including adrenal insufficiency and Cushing syndrome, as well as the medical treatment of pituitary tumors.
Currently, Dr. Sumeet Arora serves as a Consultant in Pediatric Endocrinology at Artemis Hospital, where her primary responsibilities include: developing protocols and expanding the Pediatric Endocrinology division, conducting Continuing Medical Education seminars for Pediatricians, and participating in regional Indian Academy of Pediatrics meetings. She also provides core curriculum training for Pediatric residents and leads teaching rounds for patients requiring endocrinology consultations. Furthermore, she mentors Pediatric residents in literature review and hypothesis-driven research. Her areas of special interest in Pediatric Endocrinology encompass the management of puberty-related disorders, obesity and metabolic syndrome identification, thyroid disorders, short stature, and the treatment of Diabetes mellitus using insulin pumps and glucose sensors.
