Dr. Sonu Balhara Ahlawat is a prominent specialist in IVF and infertility. She completed her undergraduate studies at the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak, Haryana, followed by her postgraduate training at the esteemed Army Hospital Research and Referral (AHRR) in Delhi Cantt. With over 25 years of comprehensive experience in reproductive medicine, she is proficient in endoscopic techniques and artificial reproductive methods, having received training at some of India’s leading medical institutions, including AHRR and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi.
For more than four years, Dr. Sonu Balhara served as a senior consultant, leading the reproductive unit within the Infertility and IVF department at Artemis Hospital in Gurgaon. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of routine and emergency obstetric and gynecological procedures, such as oocyte pick-up (OPU), embryo transfer, intrauterine insemination, follicular aspiration, and ultrasound-guided follicle monitoring. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to navigate professional challenges, reflecting her dedication and hard work. Her primary areas of focus include reproductive medicine, IVF, IUI, and third-party reproduction.
Additionally, she possesses significant experience in fertility preservation, managing high-risk pregnancies (including hysteroscopy and laparoscopy), addressing recurrent pregnancy loss, and performing endoscopic treatments. An enthusiastic scholar, Dr. Balhara authored a book on DNB Part II obstetrics and gynecology, published in April 2012, and remains engaged with advancements in obstetrics, gynecology, and assisted reproductive technologies. She has contributed numerous research papers to the field. For the past two years, Dr. Sonu Balhara has held the esteemed position of Secretary for the Haryana chapter of the Indian Fertility Society. Furthermore, she is actively involved in various charitable initiatives and NGOs in the Delhi-NCR region.
