Dr. Sanjoy Basu currently serves as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in Howrah, specializing in advanced interventional endoscopy. After completing his MBBS in India, he pursued a Post-Graduate Medical Diploma in MRCP (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians) in London and Edinburgh, which he successfully obtained in 2011.
Recently, he was elected as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP). Before his current role, Dr. Basu worked as a Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology in London from 2008 to 2012. He is fully trained in capsule endoscopy and the BRAVO technique, holding certification from the UK-based Joint Advisory Group (JAG) in diagnostic and therapeutic GI endoscopy.
Additionally, he is skilled in diagnostic elastography (Fibroscan), having received international certification from Ecosense in Paris, and is proficient in endosonography.
Dr. Sanjoy Basu has extensive experience in managing a variety of gastroenterological conditions, including peptic ulcer disease, non-ulcer dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel disease.
As a hepatologist, he possesses a strong understanding of treating hepatobiliary diseases, such as viral hepatitis, NAFLD, and alcoholic liver disease.
