He has undergone extensive training in Gastrointestinal Hepatobiliary Oncosurgery in India and the UK for over a decade. Currently, he serves as a senior surgeon with a focus on advanced laparoscopic techniques in liver, pancreas, and gastro oncosurgery. Dr. Chakrabarti has recently initiated laparoscopic bariatric surgery and is implementing a surgical weight loss program at Columbia Asia Hospital in Kolkata, successfully treating four patients, including one NRI.
His current roles include:
– Consultant at Columbia Asia Hospital, Salt Lake, where he performs bariatric surgery as part of the surgical weight loss program.
– Consultant Surgeon and Head of Surgery at AMRI Hospital, Salt Lake.
– Visiting Surgeon at Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra (EEDF), Jodhpur Park, Kolkata.
With over 25 years of experience in surgery, he has worked with various hospitals and clinics in India and the UK. He has also contributed to medical education, teaching medical students and SHOs during his postgraduate residency in India, and continues to educate students in his current position.
