Dr. Saket Goel has been practicing as a Senior Surgeon in New Delhi since 2000. He completed a 3-year Senior Residency at Maulana Azad Medical College, Lok Nayak Hospital, and Superspeciality GB Pant Hospital in New Delhi, where he gained extensive experience in the field of surgery. With a strong foundation in surgical techniques, he is capable of handling even the most complex surgical cases.
Following his training, Dr. Goel worked in renowned hospitals in South Delhi, including Max Superspeciality Hospital, Moolchand, and PSRI Hospital. In 2004, he joined Indraprastha Apollo Hospital as a consultant in the Department of Surgery, specializing in General, Gastrointestinal, Minimal Access, Bariatric, and Robotic surgeries.
In 2005, Dr. Goel further enhanced his skills by undertaking a 1-month clinical observership at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. Under the guidance of Dr. Buchler and Dr. Freiss, who are globally recognized for their expertise in Pancreatic Surgery, he gained valuable insights and knowledge. Dr. Goel also had the opportunity to work at the European Referral Centre for Pancreatic Cancer during his observership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Goel has performed a wide range of surgeries, including open basic to complicated gastrointestinal surgeries, minimal access surgeries (including Bariatric procedures), and laparoscopic procedures for various conditions such as cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendicectomy, and liver hydatid cyst removal. He has also conducted laparoscopic bowel surgeries, gastric surgeries, gynecological surgeries, and robotic surgeries.
Apart from his clinical practice, Dr. Goel is actively involved in teaching the DNB candidates in the fields of General Surgery and Surgical Gastroenterology. He plays a crucial role in guiding and supervising their thesis work. Additionally, he contributes to the organization of Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs in the hospital, focusing on reducing surgical complications, promoting minimal access surgery, and advancements in colorectal surgery.
