Dr. G. Ravichandran completed his medical education (M.B.B.S., 1974-1980) at Madras Medical College, a prestigious institution in India. Following this, he developed a keen interest in dermatology, earning a diploma (1982-1984) and subsequently a Master’s degree (1987-1989) from the same college, where he was mentored by the esteemed Prof. A.S. Thambaiah and Prof. Patrick Yesudian, alongside a distinguished team of dermatologists.
In 1985, he received specialized training in Dermatosurgery under the guidance of Prof. P.N. Behl at the Skin Institute in New Delhi. Motivated by the surgical methods for treating Vitiligo, he dedicated his efforts to this area, successfully performing over 2,000 surgeries to date. He has explored various innovative melanocyte transplant techniques and developed his own therapeutic strategies, achieving a commendable success rate. Dr. Ravichandran has been recognized with numerous awards and honors for his contributions to both academia and surgical practice.
