Dr. Rama Joshirao Paranjape, a distinguished recipient of the All India President’s Gold Medal in Family Medicine, is a physician geriatrician dedicated to preventive healthcare for the elderly. She earned her MBBS degree from Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College & General Hospital in Pune, which is affiliated with the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences in Nashik.
Throughout her MBBS program, she consistently excelled as a valedictorian and achieved distinctions in numerous subjects. Additionally, she was honored with the Best Outgoing Student Award upon completing her degree.
Dr. Rama Joshirao Paranjape pursued her postgraduate studies, obtaining a DNB in Family Medicine from Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, under the National Board of Examinations in New Delhi. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Geriatric Medicine from IGNOU and has received training at Sasoon General Hospital in Pune. Furthermore, she is certified in Diabetes Management by the Public Health Foundation of India.
Her clinical experience includes a Geriatric Medicine Observership at AIIMS, New Delhi, under Dr. AB Dey, and she served as an Academic Visitor at Basildon University Hospital in the UK, working with Dr. Shilpa Raje in the Eldercare Medicine department.
Dr. Rama Joshirao Paranjape has actively participated in national conferences, presenting research papers and contributing to indexed journals. She was a guest panelist at the Annual Conference of the Research Society at SKN Medical College in 2020. Currently, she serves as a panel consultant at Athashri Senior Living and is committed to conducting health talks and screening camps for senior citizens throughout Pune.
