Dr. Rajan Santosham serves as the Chairman and Senior Thoracic Surgeon at Santosham Chest Hospital, in addition to his role as a Senior Consultant in Thoracic Surgery at Apollo Hospital. He completed his MBBS in 1970, followed by an MS in 1974 and an M.Ch in Thoracic Surgery in 1977, all from Madras Medical College. Dr. Santosham began his journey at Madras Medical College as a student and concluded his career in 2005 as the head of the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Government General Hospital.
His dedication to thoracic surgery remained strong, even amidst a demanding schedule at the hospital. He is affiliated with 17 professional organizations globally and has received numerous accolades, including a lifetime achievement award from the Indian Association of Bronchology. Additionally, he has been honored as a fellow of both the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr. Rajan Santosham has also played a significant role in training numerous surgeons and pulmonologists, as well as conducting workshops focused on bronchoscopy.
