Dr. Prerna Kumar is a graduate of Internal Medicine from Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. She completed her DM in Nephrology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and pursued an additional year of fellowship training in transplant nephrology. Her undergraduate education was completed at SDUMC, Rajiv Gandhi University in Karnataka in 2008.

Currently, Dr. Prerna Kumar serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Surgery in the Department of Transplant Nephrology at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Recently, she relocated to India and has joined Vmedica Clinic. As an internist, Dr. Kumar specializes in adult medicine, addressing diagnostic challenges, managing acute illnesses, and overseeing multiple complex chronic conditions, with a strong emphasis on preventive care.
