Dr. Poonam Verma earned her Bachelor’s degree in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Sri Lakshmi Narayana Ayurvedic College in Amritsar. Following the completion of her five-year program, she undertook a six-month residency. Subsequently, she attained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Acupuncture from the Open University of Medicina Alternativa. Dr. Verma employs traditional Ayurvedic methods to address various health conditions, with a primary focus on Clinical Acupuncture and Ayurveda. She has a particular interest in women’s health and pain management, specifically rheumatism.
In October 2012, Dr. Poonam Verma was honored with a Service and Excellence Award from Big Research in New Delhi, recognizing Bliss Medicare Center as the “Most Promising Ayurveda Clinic in Chennai.” Dr. Poonam Verma is also an active lecturer and contributor to numerous magazines and newsletters. She shares both her personal and professional life with her husband, Professor Dr. D.R. Rajesh Verma. Additionally, she is a board-certified acupuncturist and a registered Ayurvedic practitioner.
