Dr. (Col) Monik Mehta possesses extensive expertise in complex angioplasties, heart defect closures such as atrial septal defects (ASD), pediatric catheterizations and interventions, as well as pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) placements. He has a particular focus on interventions utilizing radial artery access, which involves procedures performed through the wrist. With numerous publications to his credit, Dr. Mehta has dedicated over 20 years to service in the Armed Forces, including positions at AFMC Pune, Army Hospital Delhi, and as the Head of the Cardiology Department at Military Hospital Jalandhar.
His professional journey also includes roles at the Metro Group of Hospitals in Delhi and Alchemist Hospital in Gurgaon. Dr. (Col) Monik Mehta has gained significant international experience, having trained at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand, and worked with the United Nations in Cambodia.
Additionally, he spent over two years in Bhutan, where he not only practiced clinically but also managed a multispecialty hospital as part of the Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT). In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he has been awarded the Videsh Sewa Medal by the Government of India and the United Nations Medal by the United Nations.
