Dr. Mohammed Rehan Sayeed completed his medical education at Madras Medical College and received his general surgery training there. He then pursued further studies, including a Masters in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai. Additionally, he graduated from Boston University as the Chief Resident and completed his Pediatric Cardiac Surgery training at The Children’s Hospital, Boston, and Harvard Medical School. Dr. Sayeed also obtained a fellowship in Heart Failure Surgery and Heart Transplantation from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he specialized in Minimal Access Valve Repair Surgery and complex aortic surgeries. He is known for his groundbreaking work, such as performing the first endoscopic heart surgery in South India and having the largest series of Minimal access off-pump bypass surgery globally. Dr. Sayeed is a pioneer in Hybrid cardiac surgery in India and has mentored numerous surgeons in the field. He is dedicated to innovation and has contributed significantly to the advancement of Minimal access cardiac surgery. As an entrepreneur, he has been instrumental in establishing several hospitals, notably the premium boutique mother and child care centers called “Motherhood.” Dr. Sayeed has also made significant contributions to society through his Foundation, which focuses on providing healthcare and education to the underprivileged. His commitment to improving healthcare standards and giving back to the community reflects his compassionate nature and dedication to making a positive impact.
