Dr. Mala Sibal, a consultant physician at Manipal Hospital in Bangalore, specializes in Fetal Medicine and Obstetric & Gynecological Ultrasound. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sibal is the founder of Gynecology Academy, an online learning platform that offers basic and advanced training in gynecological ultrasound. Her expertise is further showcased in her book, “Ultrasound in Gynecology: An Atlas and Guide,” which was published by Springer in November 2016. This comprehensive resource covers a wide range of gynecological pathologies and utilizes various ultrasound techniques for accurate diagnoses.
With a total of fourteen years of experience in gynecological ultrasound, Dr. Mala Sibal previously practiced clinical obstetrics and gynecology for seven years. Throughout her career, she has trained and educated numerous practitioners and medical students in the field of gynecological ultrasound. Dr. Sibal’s knowledge and contributions have earned her invitations to speak at more than 50 national and international conferences on the subject. Dr. Mala Sibal has also authored peer-reviewed journal articles on innovative diagnostic ultrasound techniques, which have been published in the American Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Furthermore, Dr. Mala Sibal plays a significant role as a principal investigator in the ongoing International Ovarian Tumor Analysis (IOTA – 5) International Research Program. Her dedication to advancing the field of gynecological ultrasound is evident in her academic achievements. She holds a DNB post-graduate degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as an MBBS graduate degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Belgaum, where she achieved the top position in Gynecology.
