Dr. L. Bharath is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a specialization in knee and hip replacement surgeries, boasting over ten years of extensive experience and a remarkable track record of thousands of successful procedures. His expertise lies in advanced joint replacement techniques that facilitate rapid recovery, including Unicondylar knee replacements, Total Knee and Hip Replacements, and Revision surgeries, having performed more than 8,000 operations to date. He is adept at treating patients across all age groups, significantly enhancing their joint functionality and overall quality of life.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bharath has been at the forefront of developing SMART KNEE REPLACEMENT technologies, which promote painless recovery, swift rehabilitation, and reduced infection risks post-surgery. In addition to his proficiency in arthroplasty, he is skilled in managing traumatology, spine issues, arthroscopy, pediatric orthopedics, and deformity correction. His academic journey began with an MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Chennai (1998) and a Master’s in Orthopaedic Surgery from Grant Medical College and JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai (2006).
In 2012, he earned the MRCS designation from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. He was honored with the prestigious Ranawat Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship for advanced training in hip and knee joint replacements under the guidance of esteemed surgeons Dr. Chitranjan S. Ranawat and Dr. Amar S. Ranawat at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.
In 2016, he became the first Indian recipient of the International Rothman Ranawat Travel Fellowship in the United States, where he trained under Dr. Adolf Lombard. Currently, Dr. Bharath practices at VS Hospitals in Chennai and is actively engaged in outreach initiatives, including seminars, research presentations, and online surgical demonstrations. He is also a dedicated member of various professional organizations, including the Indian Orthopaedic Association.
