Director and Senior Consultant: Gynecology Minimal Invasive and Gynecology Oncosurgery Division. Holds an MBBS degree from Kolkata and an MD degree from AIIMS. Also possesses a Diploma in Reproductive Medicine from Geneva University and is a Diplomat of the National Board. Additionally, holds the FICMCH title from Kolkata and FIAOG title. Formerly served as a Professor and Unit Head, as well as Chief of Gynecology Minimal Invasive Surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
Notable achievements include performing the maximum number of Hysteroscopic Surgeries in India and being awarded 6 gold medals. Also, the first person from India to receive the prestigious Hubert de Watteville Prize in Geneva, with their name included in the Limca Book of Records. Received the Bharat Jyoti award and the WHO’s Who award by the American Society, as well as a Lifetime Achievement award by NARCHI.
Previously held positions include being the Chairman and Head of the fellowship program in Gynecology Endoscopy at AIIMS, New Delhi. Also served as the President of NARCHI, Vice President of the Delhi Gynecological Endoscopists Society, and Honorary Secretary of Women Health Initiative in Gynecology Endoscopy from India. Additionally, served as the Honorary Secretary of AOGD.
In terms of publications, has published a total of 270 papers in National and International Journals, along with 95 abstracts. Delivered 90 guest lectures at various National and International conferences. Serves as a member of the review board for the International Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journals of Pediatrics, and Journal of Human Reproduction.
Furthermore, holds the position of General Secretary for the Women Health Initiative endoscopy training program in India, in collaboration with Germany, since 2002. Has trained over 400 delegates from India and neighboring countries through regular workshops at AIIMS. Has conducted more than 50 live workshops at National and International conferences. Published the largest work on operative hysteroscopy from India.
