Dr. Harish’s primary goal is to contribute to the well-being of India by providing medical services that promote good health and professional excellence, while also serving humanity. He is a highly skilled expert in handling the dangerous coronavirus and has taken on the role of chief intensivist, successfully treating over 2000 critical COVID-19 patients and numerous ward cases. His expertise lies in early recognition and management of diabetes, including the management of complications such as diabetic foot, neuropathy, and end organ damage like nephropathy. Additionally, he has extensive knowledge in managing various infectious diseases, as well as specialties in Cardiology, Hepatology, Hematology, Nephrology, and Neurology.
Dr. Harish N S completed his MBBS from JJM Medical College, Davanagere, and obtained his MD in General Medicine from Shri B M Patil Medical College, Bijapur. He further pursued a fellowship in diabetes in collaboration with the Royal Liverpool Academy, UK. Driven by his passion for humanity, he completed his Indian Diploma in Critical Care Medicine (fellowship in critical care) from Narayana Hrudayalaya Bangalore, which is recognized by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
He began his career as a Senior Registrar in the General Medicine Department at Sahyadri Narayana Hrudayala, Shimoga, and also completed a fellowship in Diabetes recognized by the Royal Liverpool, UK. He continued his professional journey in the ICU at Columbia Asia Hospital Whitefield, Bangalore, and later pursued a fellowship in critical care at Narayana Health’s Muzumdhar Shaw Medical Center, Bangalore. He has also worked as a Consultant Intensivist at Ramiah Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. Currently, Dr. Harish N S holds the position of Lead Consultant Physician and Intensivist at Sparsh Hospitals, Bangalore.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Harish N S is actively involved in training IDCCM candidates and postgraduate students in critical care. He has delivered numerous talks on the management of various conditions in the ICU at both state and national levels. Furthermore, he is part of a government project in Karnataka that focuses on training government doctors in ICU. In recognition of his dedication and efforts, he was honored with the COVID Warrior Award in 2021 by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
