Over a remarkable career of 31 years, he has led the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplant at several super-specialty hospitals, including the Army Hospital Research and Referral in Delhi and the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune. As a committed clinician, knowledgeable scholar, and exceptional researcher, he is widely regarded as an authority in various nephrology fields, such as cadaveric renal transplantation, ABO-incompatible renal transplantation, and Interventional Nephrology.
Professor Dr. D. Mukherjee pioneered the ABO-incompatible renal transplant and Interventional Nephrology programs within the Armed Forces. With over 2,000 successful kidney transplants to his name, he possesses extensive expertise in all dialysis modalities.
