He further advanced his education by obtaining a DM in Nephrology from PGIMER Chandigarh, recognized as the leading institution for nephrology training in India. Over a remarkable career of 31 years, he has led the Department of Nephrology and Renal Transplant at several super-specialty hospitals, including the Army Hospital Research and Referral in Delhi and the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune. As a committed clinician, knowledgeable scholar, and exceptional researcher, he is widely regarded as an authority in various nephrology fields, such as cadaveric renal transplantation, ABO-incompatible renal transplantation, and Interventional Nephrology.
Professor Dr. D. Mukherjee pioneered the ABO-incompatible renal transplant and Interventional Nephrology programs within the Armed Forces. With over 2,000 successful kidney transplants to his name, he possesses extensive expertise in all dialysis modalities. His dedication to education is evident in his roles as a teacher and examiner for MBBS, MD (Medicine), DNB (Medicine), DNB (Nephrology), and DM (Nephrology).
