Dr Chandrasekar Chikkamuniyappa is an esteemed Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in advanced joint replacement surgeries, particularly computer-assisted and minimally invasive procedures for the hip and knee. He holds an Adult Reconstructive Fellowship from the renowned Ranawat Orthopedic Center at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, USA. Dr Chikkamuniyappa also plays a pivotal role in mentoring young Orthopedic Surgeons through a Joint Replacement Fellowship program at PEOPLE TREE Hospitals.
His passion for adult reconstruction led him to spend four years in the United Kingdom, where he honed his skills in complex hip and knee reconstruction at a prestigious University Hospital in London. Dr Chikkamuniyappa is not only the driving force behind the establishment of PEOPLE TREE Hospitals but also the visionary behind its concept. He inspires individuals to embark on seemingly impossible journeys to touch, move, and inspire a billion people. By co-creating PEOPLE TREE Hospitals, he has provided a platform for doctors, nurses, and staff to excel in their respective fields and unleash their full potential. Additionally, he has played a crucial role in establishing the Musculo-Skeletal Research Institute of excellence.
Upon his return to India in 2007, Dr Chikkamuniyappa played an instrumental role in building a successful Orthopedic Department at a reputable hospital in Bangalore. He also undertook the task of rebuilding the Orthopaedic Department at another corporate hospital and established the Institute of Orthopaedics in 2012. As the Secretary of the Bangalore Orthopedic Society in 2008 and an active member of the Karnataka Orthopaedic Association, he has been actively involved in organizing and conducting numerous educational programs for both the general public and healthcare professionals.
Dr Chandrasekar Chikkamuniyappa’s dedication to serving others extends beyond his medical expertise. He was among the first responders to provide on-site relief during the major earthquake in Gujarat, India, on January 26, 2001. Leading a team, he played a crucial role in planning, triage, resuscitation, and performing surgeries to aid those affected. Throughout his educational journey, Dr Chikkamuniyappa has been recognized for his academic achievements, receiving the National Merit Scholarship and other accolades. He completed both his Under Graduation and Post-Graduation at Bangalore Medical Co.
