Dr. Ashok Desai is a distinguished Orthopedic Surgeon with over 30 years of experience, based in Pune, India. He began his career in the Orthopedic Department at J.J. Hospital in Mumbai, one of India’s leading medical institutions.
His foundational training in Orthopedics was under the mentorship of Professor K.S. Masalawala and Professor J.C.N. Joshipura, both of whom are recognized as pioneers in the field in India. Dr. Ashok Desai has acquired significant expertise in trauma management, correction of congenital deformities, and treatment of poliomyelitis.
Additionally, he has extensive experience in addressing infectious diseases affecting bones and joints, including tuberculosis of the spine. Currently, he serves as the head of the Orthopedics Department at Poona Hospital & Research Center, a well-regarded postgraduate teaching institution and multi-specialty hospital specializing in tertiary care.
