Dr. Anjali Kumar, MBBS, MD (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), FICMCH, FMAS, and a certified endoscopy specialist trained by the World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and Ethicon Endo-surgery Institute, boasts over 29 years of post-graduate experience. She is a distinguished obstetrician, gynaecologist, and laparoscopic surgeon based in the Delhi NCR region. Notably, she has developed a surgical technique known as the ‘Kumar’s Technique’ or ‘Reverse Uterine Closure Technique,’ specifically designed for suturing the delicate lower uterine segment in patients with a history of lower segment cesarean sections (LSCS). This innovative technique was presented and recognized at prestigious national and international conferences, including AICOG 2015 and FIGO – Vancouver 2015. As an advanced gynaecologic endoscopic surgeon, Dr. Kumar has successfully performed numerous surgeries for patients from Delhi, NCR, and beyond.
She pioneered the concept of “Natural Childbirth Oriented Pregnancy Care” in the NCR region and was the first to introduce educational programs and antenatal classes for expectant couples in Gurgaon. Her initiatives aim to enhance normal delivery rates while reducing cesarean and instrumental deliveries, with a strong emphasis on promoting vaginal births after cesarean (VBAC). Dr. Kumar frequently appears on television talk shows, contributes to various columns on gynaecological topics in leading newspapers and magazines, and has authored a book titled ‘I am Blessed,’ aimed at expectant parents.
Additionally, she founded a YouTube channel named ‘MAITRI,’ which focuses on women’s holistic health and gynaecological issues. As a postgraduate educator, she has participated in numerous research projects in the fields of gynaecology and obstetrics. In recognition of her contributions, she was honored as the “Inspiring Gynaecologist of North India” by The Economic Times in 2019. Her areas of expertise include high-risk pregnancies.
