Dr. Amit Dhakoji is a highly skilled neurosurgeon with 13 years of experience in the field. He is an alumnus of the esteemed Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute in Trivandrum and graduated with three distinctions from the prestigious KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
After earning his postgraduate degree in General Surgery at GMC Nagpur, where he was recognized as a merit holder, he successfully secured a place in the SCTIMST Neurosurgery program on his first attempt through a national entrance exam. Following his neurosurgical training, he completed a one-year postdoctoral fellowship in cerebrovascular surgery at SCTIMST in Kerala in 2011.
Dr. Amit Dhakoji spent six years at the Central India Institute of Medical Sciences in Nagpur, where he established a comprehensive epilepsy surgery unit. CIIMS is a unique 100-bed facility dedicated to neurosciences in Maharashtra, where he performed numerous complex neurosurgeries, including spine procedures and aneurysm repairs, in addition to epilepsy surgeries.
He further enhanced his expertise by training in advanced epilepsy surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio under Professor Gonzalez. His passion for microvascular anastomosis led him to visit several state-of-the-art centers in Japan.
To date, he has successfully completed over 300 epilepsy surgeries across various institutions. In 2017, he relocated to Pune and began his association with Sahyadri Hospitals and Jupiter Hospital. His areas of special interest include awake craniotomy, complex and eloquent brain tumors, epilepsy surgeries, bypass surgeries, and deep brain stimulation.
