Dr. Abdul Basith earned his MBBS and MD in obstetrics and gynecology from Annamalai University. He subsequently trained in minimally invasive gynecological surgery at WLH in Gurgaon, Delhi NCR, where he received his fellowship and diploma in minimal access surgery. His academic career includes serving as faculty at Karpaga Vinayaka Medical College and Research Institute in Chengelpet, as well as at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Porur, Chennai.
Additionally, Dr. Abdul Basith has worked as a visiting consultant at Hiba Hospital and Mehta Hospital, both located in Chennai. Dr. Basith further enhanced his expertise by training in Assisted Reproductive Techniques at the National University Hospital in Singapore under the esteemed Professor P.C. Wong. Dr. Abdul Basith completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Reproductive Medicine at Apollo Hospital, Greams Road, Chennai, affiliated with T.N. MGR Medical University.
Dr. Abdul Basith is also trained in Robotic Surgery by Intuitive Surgical, USA. With numerous publications and presentations at state and national conferences, he has actively participated in various national and state live operative workshops, either as an operator, assistant, or organizing committee member. Dr. Basith is a lifetime member of several professional organizations, including the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India, the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists, the Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction, and the American Association of Gynaecological Laparoscopy. He is also an associate member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Currently, he serves as a consultant gyneco-laparoscopic surgeon and fertility specialist at Madras Medical Mission in Chennai.
