Dr. Srinivasan Paramasivam, MD, is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery. He earned his medical degree from Madurai Medical College, affiliated with Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University in India, where he graduated with honors in pharmacology, microbiology, and surgery. Dr. Paramasivam completed his residency in neurosurgery at the Madras Institute of Neurology, receiving accolades for his contributions to basic science research. In 2006, he was elected as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK.
Dr. Srinivasan Paramasivam furthered his expertise with a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, associated with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, from 2010 to 2012. With significant international experience, he served as a neuroendovascular surgeon at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital for two years before joining Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York as an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery in October 2014. Previously, he practiced as a general and cerebrovascular neurosurgeon at Sri Ramachandra University in India.
Dr. Srinivasan Paramasivam is an active member of several medical organizations, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, WFTIN, SNIS, and SVIN. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Neurosurgery, Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery, and Neurosurgery Review, among others. Additionally, he has contributed to various book chapters and serves as a principal and co-investigator for multicenter clinical trials. Currently, he holds the position of Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Head of Neuroendovascular Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, while also maintaining his role as Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
