Over the past 17 years, his primary focus has been on performing coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs) for patients with end-stage heart failure, coronary artery disease (CAD), and valvular disease. He has an impressive track record, having successfully completed over 15,000 cardiovascular cases and 1,000 pediatric surgeries. His expertise lies in a wide range of procedures, including extensively assisted and performed CABGs, total arterial CABGs, redo arterial CABGs, beating heart CABGs, valve replacements and repairs, as well as simple congenital cases such as ASD, VSD, BD Glenn, and TOF repairs.
He has gained valuable experience through his involvement in pediatric cardiac surgery coronary programs and valve surgery programs, and has extensive knowledge in ICU management. His exposure to all aspects of cardiac surgery includes cardiac transplantation and the insertion of ventricular assist devices. During his fellowship in cardiac surgery at the Children’s Hospital Boston, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, he acquired the principles of one-stage correction of complex congenital diseases, fine surgical techniques, and comprehensive intra-operative management. He also recognized the importance of intensive postoperative care, including the use of mechanical heart support (ECMO) during resuscitation.
His special expertise extends to procedures such as arterial switches, double switches, Senning, Mustard, Norwood BDG, Fontan, PDA, Coarctation of aorta ASD, VSD, AV canals Rastelli, RV-PA conduits, Pulmonary atresia, TOF, pediatric heart transplants, minimally invasive incision surgeries, pacemakers, and redo complex congenital heart surgeries.
He has had the privilege of being trained by renowned experts in the field, including Dr. Jonas, Dr. Del Nido, Dr. Mayer, Dr. Stella Van Praag, Dr. Richard Van Praag, Dr. David Wessel, and many other luminaries. With over 1,000 cases under his belt as a surgeon, including cardiac transplant donor harvests, numerous redo surgeries, and complex cases with previous patent LIMA, he has demonstrated his skill and expertise. He has successfully managed patients with multiple comorbidities, including peripheral vascular disease.
