Dr. Laxman Malkunje serves as the Director of the 72hrs Smile Clinic, driven by the belief that everyone deserves a smile. He emphasizes that every individual has the right to maintain their dental health, which is essential for proper nutrition and contributes to confidence and a youthful appearance. This philosophy inspired the establishment of the 72hrs Smile Care Center, where the motto is “It’s time to smile again.”
With over 14 years of experience in community dentistry, Dr. Laxman Malkunje has developed a deep understanding of patient needs and the broader community dynamics. He began his dental education at Government Dental College in Aurangabad, graduating in 2007.
He then pursued advanced studies at the prestigious King George Medical College in Lucknow, where he earned his master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery in 2012. Since then, he has been practicing in private maxillofacial hospitals, specializing in facial trauma, oral cancer, immediate loading implants (basal implants), jaw cysts and tumors, conventional implants, TMJ pain, mucormycosis treatment, and various oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures.
Dr. Laxman Malkunje has authored over 40 national and international publications and is a respected maxillofacial surgeon at Deccan Multispeciality Hardikar Hospital in Pune. He frequently lectures on immediate loading implantology to various branches of the Indian Dental Association across Maharashtra.
Committed to continuous learning, he has participated in more than 30 workshops focused on dentistry and maxillofacial surgery to enhance his skills. Additionally, he conducts workshops in implantology to help young dentists stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field.
He is a life member of the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India and has completed a diploma in immediate functional loading implantology in Munich, Germany. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for the National Journal of Maxillofacial Surgery and is a recipient of the prestigious ‘Mahara’ award.
