Dr. Avinash Dal serves as the Chief Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgeon at Continental Hospitals, bringing over 21 years of expertise in the field. He has successfully conducted more than 9,000 significant cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures throughout his career.
His extensive hands-on experience includes off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery, minimal access cardiac surgery, thoracoscopy (VATS), mediastinoscopy, and aneurysm surgery for aortic dissections, as well as endovascular repair techniques.
Notably, in 1997, he performed the first elective auto transplantation of the heart (bench cardiac surgery) for patients with end-stage heart disease, followed by the Battista operation (reduction cardiomyoplasty) for dilated cardiomyopathy in 1999.
Dr. Avinash Dal established the VATS program in 2000, completing over 1,800 VATS surgeries to date. In 2004, he was the first in the state to perform awake cardiac surgery (CONCAB). He also pioneered the minimal access cardiac surgery program at Apollo Health City in Hyderabad in 2007 and executed endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) of the aorta in 2008.
